The Graz chair is formed through elastic deformation. It does not require a mould or heat, just a CNC milling machine and a workman to assemble it. This chair is a revision of the typical Medea chair by Vittorio Nobili, but not having to use a press. Improvements in the tails and the quality of the layers of the plywood allow building a highly elastic and resistant product at a minimal thickness.
Chair’s fabrication requires a low energetic cost and its production produces minimum waste. Graz is formed from a rectangle on which some cuts are performed. Redundancy through the overlapping of the material stiffens the shell.
This sheet-folding concept through active bending is completely adaptable and variable, allowing it to be adapted in a wide range of models.
