Begin by selecting your desired structure size and determining the number of supports needed. You can freely position these supports to perfectly adapt your design to the specific needs of your site and intended use. With each adjustment, the shell dynamically reshapes in real-time, driven by our advanced internal form-finding algorithm, ensuring your structure remains aesthetically pleasing, efficient, and structurally stable.

Our intuitive configurator offers two user-friendly modes. In the default mode, you can rapidly select from pre-defined options including size, number of supports, and preferred materials. If you desire deeper customization, switch to our advanced settings mode, unlocking detailed controls that allow precise adjustments to every aspect of your design.

This project has indirectly received funding from the European Innovation Council and EISMEA, European Commission COSME-SMP-2021-CLUSTER through the FRIEND CCI PROJECT, under the 2nd Call for proposals dedicated to SMEs. The grant supported the development of the PENTAURA configurator, a digital service aimed at fostering innovation in sustainable timber structures, providing climate-resilient shelters and playgrounds through parametric design and digital fabrication technologies.

The PENTAURA configurator emerges from an innovative research project initially developed by Master's students specializing in computational design at UPCSchool. The original Pentaura Shell, a digitally fabricated segmented timber structure, demonstrated remarkable ease of construction, material efficiency, and minimal ecological footprint. This pioneering project employed computational form-finding methods inspired by Antoni Gaudí's iconic inverted models, and advanced structural analysis via Rhinoceros Grasshopper, Kangaroo2, and Karamba3D.

CODA Computational Design Affairs led the project's architectural design and technological integration, alongside ShapeDiver, which developed the technical framework for the web-based configurator. Karamba3D provided specialized software and structural analysis expertise, ensuring rigorous structural stability and performance.
