Montjuic is a branched thin timber shell, whose profile can be associated with the Barcelona coastal mountain. Its skeleton is an antifunicular dendrogram.
The dendrogram is the diagram that iteratively matches the proximity between data and is used in taxonomy to establish relationships based on the genetic distance of the samples. In this case, the algorithm has been used to build a branched arch from the successive connection of the closest pairs of points in euclidean space.
The shell is built with 9mm birch plywood elastically bent planks and custom angle folded steel plates.
