The pavilion is designed as a mediterranean loggia, covered arched space, to host exhibitors and institutional functions and welcome visitors of the Mobile World Congress.

Amid the digital uniformity of its surroundings,  the curved timber space aims to reflect the solemnity required by the institutional brief, while remaining true to our principles of lightness and sustainability, for which we interpelled the intrinsic properties of the timber to maximize the curvature and enhance the slenderness of the columns..

The structure is a single anticlastic shell composed of thin funnels whose spans increase progressively towards the centre, generating a dynamic sense of openness. The surface is rationalized into individual strips,  originally manufactured and transported flat and straight to optimise material efficiency and minimise waste. As these strips rise, they widen and bifurcate incrementally upon crossing specific dimensional thresholds, producing a performance driven  organic growth pattern.

Connections between elements are solved through lip-like joints—non-cutting protrusions located along the edges—that enable straightforward, single-sided assembly from the underside of the structure. Fully demountable, the system ensures adaptability, reusability and long-term sustainability.
